When driving, one of my favorite games is listening to classical music on radio and trying to identify the composer. Bach and Chopin have distinctively different voices, yet one is not better than the
other.
Bring it forward a bit to performers: the Beetles and the Mamas and Papas - you need only to hear them to identify each. Each group has its distinctive voice created by the sum of its individuals. In painting, you recognize an Andrew Wyeth and a Richard Schmid, a Georgia O'Keefe and a Pablo Picasso, a Norman Rockwell and an Aubrey Beardsley --
all these are identifiable by their work.
For each of them, it's the unique voice of each that makes them recognizable.
