Free Quick Tips on Wednesday - Free Newsletter Tip on Saturday We've Got You Covered! I am always delighted when artists tell me they actually practice my YouTube Quick Tips. Several have told me that they began with the first one and have worked their way through the whole batch. In many cases, folks have commented that they found in the Tips something they'd never before been
taught. If you're not already doing so, why try practicing the Quick Tips--not just those on YouTube, but the tips in the Saturday Newsletter as well. It's one thing to watch something being done, but to
experience it--well, that's a gift that keeps on giving. Local colors vary according to how they are affected by light and shadow and by their surroundings--that's what we'll be exploring on August 29 during the live online Workshop. We will examine what happens to color as it changes hue, value and intensity according to where it appears in light and in shadow. We will learn how
to read, mix and apply those colors. Here is one of my paintings where my intention was to do just that... Rather than trying to remember formulas, when we can learn to vary each brushstroke of color according to what we see and what we know will happen to a hue in varying light and shadow, we can have the freedom to soar with
our color. Go HERE to register or just to get more information. Registration closes on August 27.
FINDING THE RIGHT COLOR Video Lesson Another opportunity to study color is our video lessons. One in particular uses as my resource an apple hanging from its limb. I guide you through identifying the hue, value and intensity of each area
according to how it is receiving light or being subdued by shadow. Check it out at Finding the Right Color. |
